Growing up in a small country Queensland town gave me plenty of opportunities to be outdoors and we spent most weekend’s bushwalking, fishing and camping. My father was a keen semi and precious stone collector so we spent weeks on end in remote locations searching for the perfect stone. This was a wonderful training ground from an early age to learn the art of being prepared and always having a backup plan.
After moving to the coast in my late teens, four wheel driving became a passion which led to many holidays in remote places which built more confidence in our great outdoors along with the skills of driving and repairing vehicles and getting out of difficult situations which taught me to stay calm and problem solve. A trip around Australia was a highlight with a 3 week trip from 80 Mile Beach through the centre to Port Augusta.
I was drawn to survival training with Bob as it offered an opportunity to distil my previous experience and my love of the bush with being able to help others gain the skills and confidence to be able explore our great country and get off the beaten track.
I am delighted to have been asked to join the team to instruct on the Offroad Driving and Wilderness courses.
